Heavenly Sunlight!

If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there:if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall they hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee. Psalm 139 8-12

Walking in sunlight all of my journey,Over the mountains, through the deep vale;Jesus has said, I’ll never forsake thee—Promise divine that never can fail.
Heavenly sunlight! Heavenly sunlight!Flooding my soul with glory divine;Hallelujah! I am rejoicing,Singing His praises, Jesus is mine!
Shadows around me, shadows above meNever conceal my Savior and Guide; He is the light, in Him is no darkness,Ever I’m walking close to His side.
In the bright sunlight, ever rejoicing,Pressing my way to mansions above;Singing His praises, gladly I’m walking,Walking in sunlight, sunlight of love.

Girl Baby Shower Blessing Card

Another baby Shower card, Oh, how I love making these! I have 2 more showers to go to these next few weeks, so here is the first of 3 cards.
I used the New Arrival cartridge for the little outfit. I embossed it and colored each little dot. I hadn't planed on coloring the dots, but while inking the edges of the top cut, I accidentally inked on the shirt. To blend in my mistake, I inked all the dots. I think the little white ruffle looks so cute. I had cut a tan shadow but decided not to use it as a shadow and instead used it as an accent on the inside. I used the Easter 2010 Cartridge for the scalloped circle and cut out a pink circle and a smaller tan circle using George and Basic shapes. I dotted around each of the circles with a white marker. I used a Martha Stewart Punch for the ruffles at the bottom, a Blessings circle from my stash, and a pink ribbon also from my stash.  Blessings to you and yours on this cold winter night!  Thanks for looking!

It's a Boy Baby Shower Card

After 4 little girls-It's a boy!  I enjoy making Baby Shower Cards, they are such happy occasions!  My friends were so excited to be welcoming another baby, and it just happened to be a boy after 4 little girls!
I knew this card had to have stripes.  The mother loves stripes.  Always wears striped socks. So we had to do stripes. I inked the edges of the striped cardstock.  Stripes on polka dots? hmmm.  would it work?  I think it did!  A Child's Year rocking horse was pop dotted on a shadow to add dimension.  I cut out "It's a boy" from New Arrival. Then for the inside, I cut out a few piece of cardstock and cut out a onsie.
I hope you get to bless someone soon with a baby shower card!

Cherry Good Wishes

What a fun time I had making this card! I found some individual tissue packs at Michael's with a beautiful design that reminded me of a wonderful lady at church. I am easily moved to tears during some of our musical pieces and oftentimes feel like I am the only one wiping away tears. I noticed one Sunday morning that she was a'crying too (but without tissue). So, when I found this tissue, the cherries and cheerfulness reminded me so much of her. I decided to make a card that matched the tissues I wanted to give her.
I first had to make the background paper. I painted the cherries on blue cardstock. I used Martha Stewart punches for the borders at the bottom, turning one upwards and one down. I topped them with wide black ribbon that had white stitching at the edges and then a strip of yellow. I cut out the white dolly using Easter 2010, a black circle using George, then the center yellow circle also using George. Using Lyrical Letters, I cut all the layers of Cherry Good Wishes in various colors and layered them. Then I put white dots on the black circle and a few on the wording, inked the cherries and was done!  This card cheers me up each time I look at it.

Oh, and of course, that very morning in church, I'm crying, I look up, and she's waving her new tissue, smiling at me, crying too!  :)
 Have a blessed day!

He Shoots, He Scores!!! Basketball Card

A friend of  my son was celebrating a birthday, so out with my cricut!  My son is playing basketball with his friend this year, so I had just received this cartridge and couldn't wait to try a few cuts.  I had to be very careful with the outline of each image because they were so delicately cut.  The outline over the wording was suppose to cut as messy as it appears.  I used my xyron for the gluing and that made it much more simple.  I cut the basket in black and used metalic gold and white pens to highlight it.  I popped HE SHOOTS HE SCORES over the basket, popped the player, then drew little Xs around the egde. Thanks for looking and may God bless you on this cold and wintry day!

Cricut Vinyl Decorated Flameless Candles

After I was able to decorated my laptop and it go fairly smoothly, I decided that I could also decorate some candles for a few gifts.  I once again designed each candle on my Gypsy (what would I do without her?!?!).  Since I recieved my Gypsy last year, I have not made one cut with my Cricut without her.  She makes it oh so easy!
Back to my project. I used black vinyl on some of the candles and brown on a few others.  I would have been totally unable to do this without transfer paper.  I arranged everything on my Gypsy exactly as it should go and the Cricut cut it accordingly.  It was a little tricky at times applying the vinyl to a curved surface, but taking my time I was able to arrange everything as I wanted it.  It actually took far longer for my brain to come up with designs that I was happy with.  I could not get the creative juices flowing! Thanks for looking!

Laptop Front Decorated with Vinyl

It has been a long time since I have posted. My scrapping space along with my time has been extremely limited. I had not tried cutting vinyl with my cricut before and heard it wasn't nearly as complicated as I thought. I heard right! For my first project, I decorated my laptop. I used my Gypsy to design and get just the right size for my project. Hooked my Gypsy to my Cricut and set my pressure and speed on medium and my blade on 4. It cut like a charm! It kiss-cut (a cut that cuts through the vinyl but not the backing of the vinyl) exactly like it was suppose to. I was well-pleased!
